23 Christmas Boxes delivered
Twenty-three Christmas boxes were delivered before Christmas to families experiencing a need.
The Mission Donations in December went solely to this cause. Thank you for you donations!
Mission Donations in November went to our annual Community Thanksgiving Drive. Thank you to all who attended, cooked, served and delivered meals to the homebound!
Thank you!
  Dear United Methodist Church Members,
Thank you so much for the very generous donation you gave to the elementary schools for student supplies. Each year, we have many unmet needs, so your donation allows us to have supplies on hand. It is such a blessing.

Thanks again,

Kristan Pfarr, social worker at LSH schools

Supporting Foreign Missions
The Mission Team voted to send $5000 to support a school opening in Baiwalla, Sierra Leone. According to their email, they were “elated with the gift.” A teacher’s yearly salary in Baiwalla is $2000.
September Missions Drive
The September Mission Donations will go to the annual School Supplies Drive.
According to the Minnesota Department of Education’s website, 40% of elementary kids and 28% of secondary age kids in the Le Sueur Henderson district qualify for free or reduced lunches.
“Parents bring in whatever school supplies they can afford, but not everyone can bring everything. And when those supplies run out, the teachers are responsible for what they still need. I try to help with that.” says Kristan Pfarr, social worker at Park and Hilltop Elementaries in Le Sueur Henderson district.
Pfarr also makes sure the music teachers and media center have supplies because they do not have students assigned to bring them supplies. “We need Kleenexes there, too. We need anti-bacterial wipes.”
School supply donations are gratefully accepted in the Gathering Area. All supplies will be brought to the schools. Visit the schools’ individual websites for a supply list by grade. Or you can put cash/check in a pew envelope and place it in the Noisy Pig Offering collected by the children.
